I've been MIA for a little bit, but this guy is good and I think he should be highlighted. Sometime American Idiol has 15 minute Stars, and I think this was last yer. I could be wrong I'm a little out of touch at times. Anyway, He took the song "Pants on the Ground" that cuaght on for about a sec and turned it into a pretty cool jam. Take a listen. After check out some of his other stuff. The guy is very talented.
Personal note: I am very bad with spelling and grammer. If you read/see something wrong let me know. I will fix so the next person can read without the mistakes. Thank you and have a good day.
Anything that you read in this blog is only my opinion, and if you disagree, well that's your right.
Last night Grammys where very entertaining. I enjoyed everything I watched and heard.
I often try and look for messages in these shows.
The first being Bruce Springsteen with "We take care of our own" I interpret my own way and you do the same. I thought that it was a great performance. I think that he was sending the message to the community of music and to the american people as well as the world.
We the people take care of each other, and no matter how much evil or corruption, that will always stand. We look out for one another. here is a link if you missed the song We Take Care Of Our Own
I could be wrong on that, I did no research to support it, Just my thoughts.
I think the message from the lead singer of the Foo Fighters was also moving. He stated that the music comes from the heart and the mind, and to learn your craft. That's not a direct quote, but you get the picture. I LOL when he screamed Rock and Roll at the end.
The news of Whitney passing away was sad,but I thought that all the artist payed get respect to her. I also enjoyed the tribute performance of Alica Keys and Bonnie Raitt to Etta James. Jennifer Hudson did a great job with "I Will Always Love You."
Swift seem to be delighted to performer her song to whomever she was singing about.
I guess all in all I really enjoyed the Grammys last. Stevie,Sir Paul, Glenn Campbell,The fact that they had past and present together on stage was awesome. Life is fragile and it does not last, but recordings do and as long as there are people on this earth music will last. I guess one could argue that nature makes music, and she does.
Congrats to Adele she deserves it.
The high light to me was Bruno, don't get me wrong all acts where great. I just like the guy's style.I love old school homage. He won best male pop vocal of the year for "Just the Way you Are."
Here's the video, just the song You Tube took all the performance down.

Lisa Lavie is exemplary example of an individual using social network and media to further her career.
She has had much success with You tube, and a majority of her videos number in the millions. This is for good reason, she is a phenomenal singer and Artist. I found her on You tube about three years ago, and drop by her profile every once in awhile to hear her new cover. She also has her own work and you can find her Debut album -- Everything or Nothing on Itunes.
Her popularity on the web is big, to say the least. As a matter of fact so big that Wikipedia has her in their encyclopedia. Follow the link Lisa on Wikipedia
I'm in love with her voice. Her voice reminds me of an artist I worked with in the past also by the name of Lisa. She is now married with children, and her last name has changed. When I knew her it was Lisa Pittman, same kind of sultry soulful voice. Anyway, I think that if Lisa Lavie considered doing a show like "The Voice" she would have the judges pushing their buttons in a hurry. I can't tell you what her plans are for the future, but I can tell you that she has done very well for herself on her own.
The music industry is in a big change and no longer do artist have to sign their lives away to have success. It takes talent, imagination ,and persistence to achieve goals, but with the help of sites like You tube and many others it can be done. You can check out her You tube Profile Here.Lisa on Youtube
Here is a sample of Lisa Lavies work.

Today's music is filled with yesterdays sounds. Often in music artist use other artist music to either get noticed, pay homage,or to further their popularity. I am not against ,and it's fine if you don't try and make any money off of it without consent. One of the biggest recognized mistakes of this is "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice. The sample that they used was from a Queen-David Bowie song called "Pressure" I wasn't there to say,but someone had to know where that music came from. I think V-Ice really didn't know at first, but he found out when he got slapped with a pretty hefty law suit.
Now a days it's common to hear a song with an old hook or Melody in it. When done the right way with all the rights given to use the original music there are no problems. This is not a new thing it's been going on for sometime now. I think a lot of people would say that Diddy brought this to the for front but believe me he was not alone. Famous artist like Snoop Dog, and Dr. Dre have been down the same road and have had much success from it. Another song that had much success was a cover of a song by Dolly Parton called "I will always love you" Song by Whitney Houston for the sound track of the movie "Body Guard" Many people had no clew it was a Dolly song. Another song that was crossed over to Hip-Hop(mostly where one will find sampling) was Ghetto Super Star, the melody is from a song called "Islands in the stream" song by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton.
The reason for this blog is because of the passing of the late great Etta James. One of the most recent sampling of an old song for a new song is by Flo Rida. I think it's just called "Good Feeling" The hook is from a song call "Something got a hold on me" song by Etta James. Flo uses the being of Etta song as his hook.
I'm giving you both to watch. Etta's first/Second Flo Rida. If for some reason the video is not playing let me know. Often You tube will take unofficial videos down. Etta's song was also covered by Christina Aguilera, and she payed tribute to Etta by singing her song "At Last" in the memorial service. RIP Etta I will be down in the basement tonight!

A Clever video will get you views, but what these guy's are doing is above the norm. This takes talent. Watch this video to see what I mean. They have over forty two Million hits in twenty five days. This video recommended to me by Nick Kucel of Innertube Studio
Music is infused in our lives. Try and go one day without in your normal routine and it is virtually impossible. The only way it can be done is to stay at home and don't turn on the T.V. or call to pay a bill basically isolate yourself from any electronic devices in the home. Maybe then you can go a day without music, but there is always the chance of the young-in driving by the house with his radio turned up. These days its very hard to escape music, Its used in almost all aspects of life. Ask any woman what song was playing when she lost her virginity and nine times out of ten them will be able to tell you. There was no music playing when I lost mine only the rhythmic beating of my heart.
We are so over exposed to music that sometimes we don't even notice that it's there. When we do notice often it's because it's a melody that is familiar to us. here are some examples of where we hear the music but don't always recognize that its playing. Think of a scary movie like Halloween with Michael Myers or better yet Friday the thirteen, and what comes to mind the music. It's used to help scare the crap out of us. It actual effects of physical and mentally. If you're tired put on some music with an upbeat tempo and give it just one song and I bet you feel more energetic. It increases the heart rate. Crazy right? ok back to where music is in everyday life.
In the morning when we wake up I'd be willing to bet most folks have there alarm set to the radio to wake them up. So your up now and grab a cup of coffee and turn on the T.V. overloaded with music and sound. Almost every commercial has it and all the shows. Ok so then what your off to work, jump in the car and I bet the radio comes on because you never really turn it off. Ok so now your at work, what helps most people get through a day. A very large majority of places have either music pumped in(retail) a radio playing(Kitchen)(op room) or they just have there ear plugs in listen to the station they made on Iheart radio or pandora. Now the work day is over and your hungry, off to your favorite dinner, grill and bar. Nine times out of time music will be playing in the background. Basically it's just about everywhere you go and in almost every activity you do. Just for fun try and go one day without it. Let me know how you did.
Music can take us back in time, jog or memory of special event or place or person. It truly is one of life's greatest gifts.
I named this blog "Music to My Ears" because when I blog under this topic I'm always going to share with the reader music that means something to me. You don't have to like it, and let me know if you don't.
Here is a song that is music to my ears. Can anyone tell me what musical instrument is not in this track, but is in almost all music we hear? George looks like he's really singing this but he's not.

Ok this ones for the lady's. Music like many things in life is predominately run, owned, and performed by men. Think of your favorite bands or artist, and I would be willing to bet that most of them are men. If you think I'm wrong feel free to debate it with me. Now that being said some of these men have figured out that women can sell just as many tracks as the guys. ie: Little Kim and Biggie.
There have been a tone of Black female Rappers to top the Charts, but can anyone tell me of one white female rapper that has made a huge impact in the music game. I can't think of any, But I found one on Youtube that I think can be the one. She goes by the name Beach.
The woman to wear the crown of the first white female rapper to break through is going to have to be above the norm like eminem but with T&A. My opinion is that Beach has what it takes. She could go toe to toe with many of the male rappers up and coming, and eat them for lunch. Hard as hell, but sweet and pretty.
When I find someone I think has what it takes I reach out to them. It took some time, but like the rest that maintain a good fan base Beach got back to me. Once again these artist are very busy on the grind. Anyway, I am now happy to call her friend on Facebook. I will be watching to see what she does next.
There is another female rapper that's from the burgh, and I got love for my home town peeps. Her name is Kelleemaize. Now i'm not a rich guy matter fact I'm cheap. When I walk by you can hear my shoes squeak, but I would pay money to see these two go at it. I'm sorry but my money would be on the brunette.
So in my opinion, the race is on to see who will be the white queen bee. Beach has my vote. Any producer would be crazy not to invest in this untapped market.
Here's a video for the lazy ones that can't click a link! Warning not for Kids. This shows the Hard!Much more to her then just this.

The owner and operator of Truth records is a guy that goes by the name Forilla.
I found him like I find most of these artist under the raidar,YouTube.
I was searching other songs for The Steelers, and came accross Black and Gold by Truth records.
I was blown away by the sound quality of the song and the dynamics. I reached out to forilla and just like Damon of Ill Willis he responded, even though he is another guy on the grind. He still found time to get back to me with words of incourgment. Please keep in mind. If you want to conntact these guys in my opinion they will get back to you,but they are very busy trying to make a carrer out of what they love to do so give it time.
After talking with Forilla I found out he's not from Pittsburgh, but Texas. He like Snoop Dog are apart of what is called Steeler Nation. He Loves the team.
